Are OPUS balanced power avaliable in USA/Canada?
« on: 3 Oct 2008, 05:46 pm »
I had sent and email a long time ago directly to Promitheus and never gotan answer,
so now that you have a forum, I will ask again...

DO you have the OPUS line for the voltages in North America and are you shipping or perhaps it doesn't make economical sense as I expect these units to be heavy and make shipping very expensive.

Thanks

I asked a similar question, interested in the Opus Magna for a pair of Spectron amps, and this was the answer, received in a couple of days. I hope it helps you too.

>>> OPus Magna which is 2000VA would set you back by USD720 SHipping is heavy at 40kgs which would be USD310 I have this is in raw stock so waiting is 4 weeks or less <<<

Thanks

I would expect shipping this kind of product to be the issue, but I was looking for the smallest unit 500VA which should weigh less than half of the magna.

let's see if other answers appear

Our units can be made for the north american voltages. That is non issue but the bulk of the price comes from shipping which quite high for now. It represents up to 30% of the price for the high va units and up to 50% for the lower va units
This can't be avoided due the bulk weight
Even shipping a 500va unit would come to about around USD120.
I think this may not be economical to go with for now with the higher oil prices unless you planning on getting a few units to spread the shipping charge
