Condition is 5 out of 10 because of age, wear, mods.
The unit was purchased about 7 years ago. The chassis is pretty scuffed up and worn on the outside. And a couple of screws are missing.
It has been modified where the stock coupling caps have been replaced with Hovland Musicap. The RCA input jacks have removed a couple of time for hard wiring and consequently the trace lifted of the PCB and now the stock RCA inputs are hardwired to the PCB. The wiring off of the alps pot has been replaced a few times as well. The power supply is stock. No other changes. The stock SUPs and the MM/MC switch are perfect. The IEC on the back is a little loose.
It works fine and sounds great. I can include some tubes, maybe some 5751s or average 12ax7s.
This unit would be great for someone who wants to fix it up better themselves. Or send it in to Mitch the EAR tech and have him fix it up. Or it would work fine for someone on a budget who wants the performance of a better phonostage and doesn't mind the condition. Also a cheap way for existing owners to get their hands on a second unit and run one per channel so take advantage of dedicated power supply per channel which I hear is very nice.
