Well, I went in looking for action and thats what I got. Real throwback to the '80's heyday of unrelenting violence with no real plot development to get in the way (and I mean that as a compliment). Think Commando. Completely over-the-top, just as it should be. The climax is just a ballet of blood and bullets. The link below has part of it (don't click if you can't deal with the red stuff!):

And thats barely showing anything. Dismemberment, arrows through the face, child killings, throat ripping, and more...all in a tidy 85 minutes or so.

There is a small chance I see this movie, and only for free. It looked horrible. It looked fake violence on top of it. I did see an early preview that was uncut, unedited, etc...

I was in the movie theater to watch No Country For Old Men with a friend and the preview started, and it starts like some sort of movie based in the jungle with no real action etc... Then my friend says loud enough, not yelling, but so everyone can hear, "Rambo is that you?" I laughed so hard when he did that; I am sure some people where upset with us.

I just got back from seeing this edition of Rambo.  I am certain the film had some underlying message about life in Burma but I found it to be decent entertainment.  The ending was over the top but the rest of the movie was believable.  Go see this one if you don't want to closely follow a plot and just want to see a guy movie!  I would rate it a 3 stars!

I like the soundtrack to this movie. Particularly the last song with the credits, (approx.10minutes) has cool percussion theme. The theme was used throughout the movie and this track is the completed theme.
I bought the special addition with Dolby 5.1 EX.

Anyone else like the soundtrack?

As for the movie I was disappointed. I would have like to have seen Rambo with the help of the mercenaries clean out the entire country. Maybe that'll be the sequel, Rambo in Burma II. Maybe he can hire Seagul and form a tag team. They're not too old to finish the job?

5 out of 5 stars
