The whole point is the controlled directivity and low verical dispersion of the neo 3. Domes are very hard to tame in car audio= been there.
Trust me I understand the point. I have been doing this since the mid 80's. If it were my vehicle it would have compression drivers and horns under the dash (being that I am friends with the head of R&D at Image Dynamics and know the owner), but it isnt mine. I spent several years doing car audio professionally, it is actually what led me to home audio. I have worked on several national champions, published vehicles, and also had my personal vehicle published. Custom work isnt an issue. I have just about done it all in a car.
The car is not going to be for competition just for show. The primary showcase is the 850 horses under the hood. The stereo system just needs to be enough so that he can hear it and will sound good when it is on display. We have weekly car shows down here that are usually just outside in parking lots and other than playing around on the strip or a weekend cruise that is what this car is intended for. It will still be a custom build with lots of fiberglass work but just no intentions of any sound competions. In other words tonality is more important that staging on this one.
