I have replaced my fostex 127es with louis hemp drivers. I have a pair of 127es that were treated by louis with several coats of dammar varnish. I believe he was experimenting with the dammar (with good results) before developing the hemp drivers. The dammar is suppose to tame some of the peakiness of the fostexs. Baskets have been dampened too. Drivers are in perfect condition and are fully broken in.
