Finished AV-3 TL's -Cherry

Just finished building a pair of AV-3 TL speakers which I finished in natural cherry veneer. Also, went with the Sonicap and No Rez upgrade which I highly recommed.Very happy with the way these speakers turned not only in looks but most importantly in the way they sound. Imaging, sound field depth, clarity, naturalness, and bass response are all top notch. Danny Richie did an excellent job designing the AV-3's. Over the years I have built a number of DIY speaker kits. Some sounded pretty good, but none as good as the AV-3's. Thanks Danny for offering such a wonderful speaker system kit to the Audio DIY community.

Attached link shows how they turned out.

Wow, nice job!  Anyone hear the AV-3s and songtowers that could compare them?

Those look great. If you don't mind I think I'll copy your idea for the location of the small GR Research tag.  I have my A/V-3 for something like two years now and I haven't glued the tags yet, I was never settled on where I should put them.  :D

Very nice looking speakers Ron. So....what components make up the rest of the system?

Loftprojection - I too was trying to decide on the best location for the GR Research logo. Finally decided on locating it in the center, about 1-1/2 inches above the base plate. I think this location looks the best.

Research Audio - Presently using a Parasound P/HP-850 preamp and HCA-1000A power amp to drive the AV-3's. Also, using a Onkyo DVD/CD player. These components work very well with the speakers.
