Antique Sound Labs MG Head DT headphone amp for sale.  The amp has been used for a few years but still runs and sounds fine.  It takes EL84 and 12AX7 or equivalent tubes.  Has a switch for OTL\transformer output.  Personally I always use the OTL jack.  There are slight frequency differences between the two and a considerable level difference, but the volume control is stepped (not electrically stepped, just the knob is stepped) so you can even it out when comparing the two.  Depending on your preference the coloration\distortion\non-linearity of this amp can make for more forgiving sound than the average solid state headphone jack.  It's not a radical difference, but it seems a bit more forgiving on the ears, if that makes any sense.  Has plenty of juice for driving headphones into probably-shouldn't-listen-this-loud territory.

The right RCA input jack is a little "thin" on its diameter tolerance, so if you have friction-type plugs they might be a tad loose.  With locking RCAs you'd be golden, though.  Just don't take it jogging.

Asking $200.00 or best offer

No, not quicker, but there was this guy from Nigeria who sent me a message which compelled me.  It seems that he was the son of the Grand Wizard of Nigeria who had recently been kidnapped by Amish mercenaries.  As you can imagine this left the realm in a bit of a bind. The Amish demanded a ransom of $1,000,000 which makes no sense because they probably use an entirely different currency in Nigeria. Regardless, they asked for 1 million or the equivalent amount in Chinese made tube electronics.  Without the money or the tube gear they threatened to stick the Grand Wizard in a butter churn piece by piece.  So the Wizard's son collected all the money he could find, but the amps were in scarce supply.  Thus began his earnest quest, scouring the internet for great deals to appease the bloodthirsty Amish and hopefully save his father's life.

Well, I'm bummed I missed out on the amp even though I was first to respond.  However, I fully understand your selling dilemma and agree that the amp should go to someone who is on such a noble quest.  Far be it for me to cause someone to be churned into butter.  Although...we could start a thread about it in the new Food Circle.

It's a good thing the kidnappers did not ask him to find a shrubbery.  I hear that "Roger the Shrubber" has retired.

Peace,

Lee
