Looking for a new home for my Denon 3910 where somebody can either fix it themselves or is willing to get it serviced. This unit is black, I have the origina box and manual, and a few spare transport parts to ship along with it.
The unit played fine and then started having problems playing redbook CDs -- at first teking a couple of tries to read a disc, then only reading new CDs, but all the time still working perfectly with SACD and DVDs. Then a friend and I got some replacement transport parts (basically the laser mechanism), replaced it, and now it won't play anything. I'm sure we probably didn't align the mechanism correctly, or some other thing that is beyond our skill set, but worse case, a wholesale replacement of the transport should get this player working again.
In stock form it is a really decent player, and of course there are a number of mod houses out there that will turn it into a reference piece for you. At least one of those places also told me that he can replace the transport toom, and that he often has to do that anyway.
I'd love to get $150 for the whole thing -- shipped to you and with no extra paypal fees, but if you'd like to make me a reasonable offer, I'll consider it as well.
I have 4 other players here now and I just don't have the patience or money to put anymore into this one as it would end up being a redundant piece anyway.
