Looking for surround speakers for my Lorelei's and hoping people can make some good recommendations for me or at least steer me in the right direction. Looking to spend $500 or less. My room is 17x24x10 with the Lorelei's in front and an SVS 20-39PCi sub I am not planning on using a center channel. Thank you!

Certainly someone out there has some expertise on the subject. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think it's the $500 or less for a pair of speakers that are voiced similarly to the Lori's that is the problem.  Most of the speakers that are going to have a similar voicing are likely going to be more than that.

I think having identical surrounds is less critical than having all 3 front speakers match.  If you're interested, I have a pair of Polk f/x500i surrounds that have never been used and I will sell well within your price range.

I use Usher X-616 for my front/rear centers on a recommendation from Byteme. These have a very simular 7" woofer that blends in well with the Lorelei's 7" Scan-Speak. Because of this, I would recommend the Usher X-718 or the cheaper X-708 for side surrounds as both use 7" woofers. Sonic likeness does make a difference IMHO.

I have a pair of Odyssey Circe (The smaller version of the nightengales) that I was going to use for rear surrounds but I am going with in ceilings in my new house. They are very good looking and the small floorstanders are an alternative to having to get stands and worry about tipping. Pm me if your interested
