More pics available.  Just ask.

Wonderful sounding, fully restored Scott LK-48 for sale. You will get a fully tubed unit: four strong testing Telefunkens, a Siemens 5AR4, four HH Scott brand 7189s, and GE/HH Scott brand 7199s.

Details on this piece:

This integrated amp was completely restored by Ryan Inman (see pics) about 1 1/2 years ago. No hum, no problems, and it works perfectly. It was given a complete restoration and will last many years from now. This amp was never shipped to have work done because I live near Ryan.

Aging cans were replaced with JJ Electrolytics, selenium rectifier replaced with silicon diode, all out of spec resistors replaced, and most importantly, Hovland Caps all throughout and Angela Instruments copper foil in oil caps in the phono stage (these are rebranded Jensen paper in oil caps). The power transformer is not original and was replaced with a Heyboer unit (actually betters original Scott spec). The output transformers are original.

The MM phono stage is really good. Not as good as my Shindo or my previous Klyne but preferable to my previous Dynavector P75 (it's why I sold the P75).

The scratch filter switch was modified with one resistor to be a tone control bypass switch. Try both and see what you like. The sound with the controls bypassed is more transparent. Sound without bypassed is meatier. A nice feature.

I believe the kit versions (LK-48 and LK-72) were the best Scott integrateds. Concentrically coupled tone controls and less features reduce crosstalk and increase transparency. Also, the later versions had lesser transformers and cheaper parts.

Why am I selling? I bought a Scott LK-150. Also, had it restored by Ryan. And I also need some money for turntable upgrades. Honestly, this is definitely the most loved piece that I (will)have sold on Audiogon but I won't let it go for a pittance. It's a fantastic amp.

Optional: wood case for an extra $100.

Can send more pics via email. Thanks for reading.
