Glow Audio Amp One

Has anyone tried this as a headphone amp?

I have a pair of HD650s and a pair of Audio Technica ATH-A900 phones that have been sitting here for the past couple of years. I wanted to try out headphones but have never gotten around to picking up an amp.

I am also building a pair of speakers based on a pair of older generation 8" hemp speakers I picked up.

I've been looking for a small amp that can serve double duty powering the speakers and the phones and this amp looks like it could be ideal for both.

I can tell you that the amp sounds VERY nice with the current version of Louis' 8" non-alnico hemp drivers, it will drive them louder than you want to listen, at least in my small room on OB.  Unfortunately I can't comment on the headphone out, I will tell you that I tried to use the USB in, but couldn't listen to it very long and ended up plugging my Bolder modded SB3 back in.

Best,
Ed

That's a good start! I have heard they are a really nice sounding amp for the cost. Just hope they do the same for headphones.

I've had the Glow Audio Amp One in my living room system for a while now.  Been using it with the Omega non Alnico 8" hemps, actually the second release of the 8" drivers.  I had planned to upgrade to the alnico drivers but these sound so good w/ the Glow and the alnicos are said to be less efficient that I decided against the upgrade.
The headphone output actually started me into cans.  I have the X-Cans v2  amp upstairs in the bedroom system and I switch around a pair of Grado SR-60's w/ better ear cushions and Audio Technica ATH M50s.  The Glow headphone outlet has an anomaly in that you must manage a method of keeping the 1/2" jack from going in all the way or you'll only get one channel.  I just wrapped a bit of plumbers tape around the jack.
The quality is easily on a par w/ and probably slightly cleaner than the X-Cans.  The bass w/ the Grados can be a bit overwhelming.  With the AT's which are closed and not pushing the gain much, has gotten me back into using my sub to a greater extent since I can now hear the artists intent better and my listening mode had been a bit shy of the lower octave.
The Glow is a very good amp and not just for the money.  I'm really an EL84 junkie and this amp is really, really quiet and sounds right.
