Wanted Bryston 10B or similar x-over
« on: 8 Jun 2008, 10:41 am »
I am adding another amplifier and want to go active for my 2-way mains.  Please let me know if you have a 10B or something similar.  2-3Khz, 2 way, multiple slopes ideal.

Thanks,

-Mike

you should check out marchand x-overs.  even brand-new, they will be less expensive than used brystons, (unless you spring for a tubed iteration), and they are at least as good as the brystons, if not better, according to more than one person who steered me to marchand years ago, when i was first looking for an active x-over...

Thanks.

I have known about Marchand since the beginning, but I really would like something that lets me switch slopes and frequency on the fly.  I have used several 10Bs in the past.

Still a possibility though....

i dunno about slopes - mite wanna check w/phil about it.  (personally, i dunno why you would want anything but 24db/octave or greater, if going active.)  but, frequency modules are plug-n-play & pretty cheap...

I am running MTMs, I have found even order filters to be a pain sometimes with these, but I have never gone 48db or higher with an MTM.  Sometimes not, but I want the flexibilty in the crossover since the speakers are already built.
