I just got a Primaluna Dialogue One integrated to pair with my XLs and was wondering whether to use the 4ohm or 8ohm taps.  What do you guys use???

We used Primaluna amps for a couple of years at CES shows. I am pretty sure we ended up using the 4 ohm taps.  I'd suggest trying both ways, you won't hurt anything either way.  I'm going to email Kevin Deal (the importer) and see if he remembers for sure . . .

" I believe it was the 4 Ohm… but your customer’s results may vary.  Tell him to try both taps and see which one sounds best to him.  There is no right and wrong answer to this one… "

Thanks Mike!  I'm finally doing the XLs justice amp-wise, and they sound fantastic with the Primaluna integrated  .  However, they also sounded good with my Arcam receiver (not as good, though)....

Gotta hit Kevin Deal up for some tube-rolling suggestions.  Oooh, this is going to be fun!

Will do, for sure.  Not sure how much listening I will be getting this week.  105 plus degree weather is not conducive to tube amp listening, especially with the air-conditioning on the blink and a repair-person unavailable till Thursday...
