This is an excellent sounding Pre-amp (in black).
We had a pre-amp shoot-out at NY Audio society a few months ago. One was a vintage tube pre-amp -- there was no contest, Talk Pre-amp trounced it. Then we had a shoot-out between talk and a very expensive excellent sounding tube preamp - all people found it very hard to pick a winner, The Tube pre-amp was slightly warm sounding.
The biggest surprise is the optional phono stage. At one of the NY Society meetings, someone brought a tricked out Thorens Turntable. We played Jazz at the Pawnshop (connected through Talk's Phono section) and we we stunned with our Jaws open. The sound had so much detail, presence and amazing soundstage.
