Bugle Output Not Balanced
« on: 17 May 2008, 12:14 pm »
Hi. My DIY Bugle & power supply sounds great but my left signal (rms & peak) is consistently about 2-4 dB higher/louder than the right. I just bought a new TT, cartridge, and cables and it's still happenning. This means it has to be the Bugle.

Please help me find the source of the imbalance. I don't know where to start. An overheated resistor? An Op-Amp defective? I have a test record with tones and sweeps, DMM, etc.

Thanks.

You might want to post your question over on the Hagerman Technology Circle.

Have you made 100% sure that your arm is properly set up?  I.e. perfectly level, azithmus set appropriately, etc?  That could do it too.

I re-did the cart set up with a sweep record and it helped a bit. Maybe it's not the bugle. Thanks.
