Happy with my new K240 and OBH-21 SE

A few days ago with some birthday money burning in my pocket I went shopping for some cans.

After listening to Grados and other AKGs, I liked the sound of the k240s best, so I ended up buying the demos for $100. Apparently, a mk ii is on the way.   I actually could have spent more, but to my wife's amazement, I preferred the less expensive k240.  I would have sacrificed the sound isolation if the sound quality was enormously better for the open-backed phones, but it really wasn't.  Actually, the sound isolation is not nearly as much as I hoped as these are "semi-open" but it's good enough for me at home.   These, to me, sound full and and punchy with soft articulate highs and lower midrange that's full but not over-bloated.

As for the OBH-21 SE, that was a demo from audioadvisor.  I like the double output, and I'm very happy with my creek cd player so I went for it.  It sounds much better (clearer, less grainy, more effortless) than the headphone output straight from the PC (yuck), from the SB3, or from my NAD integrated.

just thought I'd share.
