question - epiphany and cc
« on: 27 Nov 2003, 02:16 am »
I have been researching online for the past month for a total replacement of my current audio system.  I ran across a post on avsforum about odyssey epiphany bookshelves.  I am very interested in this speaker as it seems to fit what i need.  The other thing that has me very happy is that the center channel you offer fits on the shelf in my armoire perfectly.

My question is, are they sonically matched for each other?  do they use the same tweeter?

I am thinking of 4 epiphany's plus the cc and a hsu vtf-3 sub.   would this be enough to fill a fairly large and open (cathedral) room?  20x20 opens into a 8x8 foyer and a 14x14 dining room. 50/50 HT/music.  I mostly listen to classical / techno VERY loud.  I demand a speaker that can laugh in my face as I push them to the limit.  (yamaha 1400 (110x7), i know, nothing like the amps you offer, but it's stretching my budget ;) )

I had almost had my mind set on axiom speakers until i ran across the tnt-audio review.

travis,

Yes,  it would be sufficient for your room , no question.  Laugh in your face ????       They'll be bursting out .  You can run them extremely loud for bookshelves without any break-up in coherency or sound staging.  Anyway,  call me  317 299 5578,  and we can talk in detail.

Late,

Klaus

Is it possible to wall mount an 18lb bookshelf?  the reason i ask is that the cc will be around 6 ft off the floor and i wanted to have the mains at the same height.  plus the WAF is much higher if they are on the wall instead of on obtrusive stands ;)
