BP26(DA) source select contact noise.
« on: 26 May 2008, 03:35 pm »
Hi to all
I have a BP26DA pre amp, I noticed the other day that when I turn the source selection knob, I get a crackly sound through the right channel with the volumne at about 9 o'clock. And when the selection is on video, if I just slightly rotate the knob back and forth, (only the play in it) that makes the noise too. I have only one source connected which is a cd transport on dac 1.

Does anybody else experience this with their amp, BP26DA or other model?

Hi,

If it is not just a static charge dissipating then I would say it is a bad switch in the video position.
Try quickly rotating the knob through that area a few times (amp off) and see if it clears up.

Hi James
I tried that and it still does it. Its not much of a problem though as it sounds fantastic, I just wondered if anybody else experiences the same thing with theirs.

When its being burned in at the factory, is it part of the procedure for the switches to be switched many times?
Best Regards
Paul

We do not switch them other than to check and make sure they work properly in production.
