Hello folks.
This is my room with the dimensions of 13'x26'x7'high. Recently found out that a room this size(double the width of 13') sucks and is something I should of tried to avoid.
Oh well. Here is what I have done and what is planned. Keep in mind that I am not a serious 2 channel listener and am just trying to incorporate ideas as I go along.
Room info:
-Ceiling has 2 layers of safe and sound insulation(6" deep) with air space above and below. The drywall is also screwed onto the resilient channel which is available at diy centres.
-1/2"drywall all around. was going to go 5/8" but doing this all by myself has its limits.
-all drywall seams including corners in ceilings and walls have been sealed with acrlic caulking
-all duct work has been sealed around joints and openings into the ceilings and walls and wrapped with safe and sound
-all new wood stud framing on all walls which was sealed with spray foam on all joints and connections
-total of 26 cans of spray foam used and 32 bags of safe and sound insulation
-any and every hole leading out of the room has been sealed with spray foam and s&s.
-listening position will be 13' from speakers with surrounds on adjustable brackets on each side wall 60" from the floor.
As for traps.
-All 4 corners will have triangular diy bass traps built in(24-36" out from each corner)
-there will be a laminate floor that will be covered predominatley with carpet.
I guess what I am asking is what should I be expecting with having a room with these dimensions. I understand asking this is like asking a mechanic to diagnose your car over the phone. But........................
Equipment is as follows
-2 diy Dayton 3-way towers. 52" high(will be spaced 10-11' apart, 3' from back wall, 2'from side walls, 20' infront of 60"tv, 1' from the sides of the tv.)
-2 18" diy mach5 ixl-18 subwoofers(don't know about placement yet. 99%sure they will have to be up front somewhere)
-2 polk audio rti-a3 surrounds(60" from floor and 13 feet back from the front speakers)
-2 dedicated 20 amp outlets on their own circuit and leg
-all electrical wiring painstakingly kept at least 16" from any speaker and audio cables in ceiling and walls.

An early drawing of the room with ideas incorporated.room is actually 26"long so there is 3 more feet behind couch where computer desk will be.
