Balanced IC question
« on: 3 Oct 2003, 04:46 am »
If you use Balanced ic's is it still important to have the input impedance of the power amplifier way higher than the output impedance of the preamp? Reason I ask is because I have an ARC LS 16 and a Marsh A400s power amp. The power amp's input impedance is 57K unbalanced and only 4K balanced. The preamp output impedance is 600 balanced and 300 single ended. ARC recommends having an input impedance on the amp to be 40k ohms minimum but does this mean with either connection? I'd like to use the balanced connection if I can. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
