What type of resistors do you guys recommend for preamp builds?  Metal Film, Carbon Film or Carbon Composite?

It depends what preamp are you going to build. If it is a tube preamp I suggest the carbon composite like Kiwami and Allen Bradley which are reasonable but the best carbon composite resistors are Rikens and AN Tants which are apparently expensive. Caddocks and Vishay Bulk resistors usually are the best for solid state preamp but they are not cheap either.

Yes, it is for a Transcendent Sound preamp and I am thinking hard about building the Cornet2 phono preamp.
