I know Bob, (from SP) and have had the opportunity to hear some of his work.  His products are excellent.

I can't imagine a better "combination" of speaker products for you to carry, since both are excellent, both enjoy a great group of fans, BUT, they each offer a somewhat different presentations that would allow you to cover more of the local speaker market, and accommodate your customers.
Bob is a very helpfull man!
Yes, thats the way I am thinking  :icon_lol:
Plus we don't want to sell speakers we don't like. The sound, design, finish are our priority NO 1 !! Too many distributers and / or resellers sell their products just to make money. This is wrong! Then they dosen't love what they are doin

We do!

The Dared amps I've seen were somewhat low powered tube amps.
I don't think they'd have the current to drive VMPS that well, except driving the mid/highs in a biamp situation.

The VMPS speakers I've heard (626, RM2, RM40, RM30) took some juice to sound their best.

Thanks for your reply!

Dared has a couple of monoblock (DV-200) with 6 KT88 tubes each. They gives 100 push-pull watt per monoblock. Does VMPS need more?
We also sell Belles and Ayon

A 100W PP KT88 based amp will provide plenty of power for any of our speakers.

I've followed the brand, from the early years, always good bang for buck. I was not as happy as most when VMPS upgraded their cabinet work...although I heard the clamor to do so (and so did Brian)...and understood it.

One of the big knocks on the speakers in the old days, was the: (looks like they where built in someones garage) cabinet work. Sound was fantastic, cabinets where not.

Better cabinets require higher prices, I can live with ugly if it sounds good!

That said...My hometheater is of the older, more ugly design (I bought it new 11 years ago)...sound is outstanding in my large room.

Of the newer designs: I've heard them all,  except the RM-60's at my local dealer (Todays Audio)....Very nice!

My two channel system consists of some old Apogee planer speakers, I like them better than VMPS...not a lot better though, just a little  :green:

Those are nice, but you better not compare them to the new RM V-60s Dave with taking along your checkbook!   aa

Didn't realize Dared went that big.

100 wpc of KT88's doing their thing should be sufficient  :D

I'm still here and my system's has evolved to a more refined state. Let me first say, yes this circle has quieted down, but not for the reasons of lost interest. It's just in my opinion  people who can afford to explore other options, do so for numerous reasons, one of them cause they can. This isn't a bad thing they just can. However , I can pretty much gaurantee those changes they make aren't always better , they just can afford the changes ,which if Could I'd probably exploring these other options. Now, since I can't afford this luxury , I by no means feel My system is inferior to the rest. This is after all a hobby and no one , I mean no one out there who would say that well tuned /weaked pair of VMPSs would  lack world class sound.

The V60s can be dialed in and tuned to suit individual tastes on a level greater than what has been the VMPS norm.  I believe this is mainly due to both the adjustable dipole nature of this speaker and that they have been designed specifically needing low bass augmentation.  Just keep in mind that if / when you do go listen to this speaker you will be at the mercy of what that other fellow feels is optimum.  I think you will find that those used to and comfortable with dipole designs will set this speaker up a bit differently than those used to point source systems.  Each will have a different voice.  Also, the back folding wings forming that rear facing horn creates something altogether new in a back wave.  Those having previous dipoles will need to consider this as it does dictate a somewhat different approch to their set up and room treatments.

You got a really good looking system! If it sounds as good as it looks, you have a excellent system!

How big is your room?

Congrats!

Thank you.  The room is not huge.  It looks larger in the photos because I like to listen to speakers againt the long wall.  It sets a wide soundstage.  The room is 21.5 ft. wide x 15.2 ft. long x 12 ft. cathedral peak (average of 10 ft.).

My pleasure!

What do you think about the RM30 or even RM40 in a room 16,4 x 13,1 ft?

Speakers must be nice looking at, thats important to me!!

Everything I know about the RM30 and RM40 I have learned being a member of this forum over the last few years.  I have not heard them.  There are not so easy to find outside of some major cities.  Although following their developments and the discussions about them here, solidified my commitment to the V60s when they were announced.  I actually preordered them and the VLAs unheard.  I never thought I would ever do such a thing, but felt my years of research and participation on this forum would pay off.

I am sure others will chime in here, but I see no reason why either one of those speakers would not work wonderfully in that size of room.  One thing is for certain.  They are nice looking.

Also I would like to know if the speakers need big rooms!?

I have a pair of RM30Ms in a room slightly larger than 3x4 meters.  They sound fine there.  Unfortunately, the room just isn't quite big enough to add a pair of larger subs.

Because VMPS speakers offer a number of upgrades, options and tweaks, they really strike me as being an excellent product line for a dealer who wants to build a rapport with customers and offer in home customer service.  Everything, except maybe the 626, is very solid and some speakers require a tiny amount of assembly.  And there is ample opportunity for tuning the speakers for the room and tweaking.  I set mine up solo, but I could have used some help.  And working alone it took some time to get things sounding the way I wanted.  Don't get me wrong - they were great right out of the box.  Just some minor improvements.  In my case, it took time, trial-and-error and several (OK, many) e-mails to Big B.  But I reckon it would have been great to have someone experienced with VMPS do all that for me.
