Hi All,

New to this forum (and to audio in general), so I apologize in advance if this is a stupid and/or blasphemous question.

I drive a 2001 Jetta GLX with the built-in "monsoon" sound system.  It basically works fine for me, but I want to add a line in jack so that I can easily feed a signal from my portable MP3 player (or whatever the next mobile audio gadget is) without having to use that kludgy headphone-to-tape contraption.

What do y'all think?  Is it possible?  Is it worth the trouble?  If it's straightforward, where would you suggest I find more information on how to do it?

Many thanks!

Michael

FYI, I believe I have tracked down some answers to this question (after hours of web surfing):

I also found this interesting article about fixing a wiring error in double-DIN VW monsoon stereos that causes degraded performance:

Now I guess it's time to get my hands dirty...

Ciao,

Michael
