Hey Guys,

A friend is looking for a good 5.1 speaker system and amp. He has a total budget of around $1500. Any suggestions on good options in this price range? I'm trying to keep him away from the big box shop slop packages.

AV123 had some nice package deals on Denon and X-Series speakers.  Not sure if they sold that out already, but it's worth a try to give them a call and see what they have left.

Does anyone have any experience with the Athena packages? Audio advisor has a complete 5.1 system for 1K. It uses the FS2.2 speakers as fronts. The original FS2's seem to have gotten a favorable review in Stereophile years ago.
