This is a very nice (and rather rare!) Denon TU850 tuner.  I had a TU800 at the same time, and this one basically blew it away.  Very cool-looking vintage unit.

Some small scratches on top, one slightly-bent switch -- but still probably 6.5/10 on Audiogon (looks way better than you'd think by my descrip... see my sytem pic, and inquire for a better pic).  Functions nicely (was serviced in Philly some time ~'94) and sounds great.  I just don't use it much anymore due to lack of good radio stations.  Sounds a lot like my Scott tube tuner, with a monster soundstage.  You may now have this beast for $190 + actual cost of Fed-Ex ground shipping in the US.

just chiming in to say i know this is an excellent tuna - both for reception capability & for sonics.  and, this isn't a bad price, either, if it's presentable in appearance.   (jon, i couldn't easily find the link to your system foto's, you may wanna post it.)  a buddy of mine recently compared his tu850 (which used to be mine  ), to a newly purchased magnum dynalab md102, (significantly more expensive, even used), & the tu850 came out on top.  i understand he's returning the md102, & sold the tu850 anyways, to fund the mods of an accuphase t101.  the accuphase, at about twice the price or more, of the tu850, still isn't any better than it - amhik!   but, my friend prefers the t101's appearance...

Thanks Doug! --  Good to know that the Denon can play along with the MD and Accuphase!  It pretty much destroyed my newer Denon TU-800, which I promptly sold after hearing the 850.  You almost have me tempted to keep it
