had the great pleasure of meeting the main man Hugh on Monday.
i did not have the amount of time i would have liked, as usual i was not well organized and had to rush the visit , but the 40 minutes i did spend chatting was an absolute pleasure Hugh, our short chat was captivating and enlightening, you and your lovely wife are the nicest people anyone could wish to meet, i really look forward to our next meeting and taking you up on your offer of a chat over some good coffee at one of the many great cafe's in beautiful Melbourne  sometime soon rather than later i hope.

i thoroughly enjoyed my trip to the big city :D, its been about 4 years since my last trip to Vic, but i have now made the decision to try and fly over at least twice a year, well with the way airfares are going why not! my visit to the masters golf was a treat and will be an annual event from now on for me :hyper:. Im sure i could find many excuses to squeeze one more trip in every year

during my short visit i did manage a quick listen to Hugh's new speakers, i won't offer a review as my ears are amateur and my audio vocabulary is still very much under developed, something that will be amended im sure over time, i will say though they sounded damn fine to me, i only wish i had packed some familiar music which i was kindly pre warned to from Raptor but still i could not pull through :duh:

anyway on to the exciting times ahead, i picked up 3 100N+ while i was there which i will be undertaking very shortly for my soon to be home theatre. Im about to build a house with a dedicated HT (7 by 4 metres)which im very excited about aa, a lot of you are probably thinking nooooooo, but i think Hugh's amps would be absolutely fantastic for cinema sound, at this stage im having six custom speakers made by Andrew from http://www.aslanacoustics.com.au/cinema.html based on his C6 design. the Aksa has so much slam yet able to deliver with such finesse I think they will really lend themselves perfectly to a HT application, i cannot wait to get the room up and running! the project is still in its infancy, plans for the house are with council at the mo, Im hoping to get started in January and finish middle to later in 08, i will keep you all posted on the progress as i plan to do a lot of audio related treatments to the room which i hope everyone will find some interest in.

Cheers and thanks again Hugh, good luck with the cressida, i hope to hear that nice rumble next time :D

oh and ps the photo's of Hugh's bike do not do it justice, its truly immaculate and obviously very well looked after one of the best specimens ive laid eyes on

Cheers George

Please do keep us informed.  I reckon the AKSA's will form a great HT basis and have been thinking the same for some time and would love to hear how they work out for you.

lol

of course very of course it will work very very wonderful
5 aksa's for DD 5/1 or DTS is my nearby future setup as well

i have an NAD 5.1 receiver DD and DTS for HT and i found to my horrible acknowledgment the most terrible cheap electrolytic output caps at the output of the "5.1 preamp part. I immediately replaced them with 200V 1 uF Auricap

a very BIG difference. standard receiver in front of AKSa's is a waste of effort. Of course i have a wire bridge in the AKSA as C1

George,

You are truly gorgeous, perhaps your wife a tad more as well.......

Thank you for your visit, and your goodwill, both much appreciated.

That bloody Cressida is driving me crazy, have to get a good Lexus motor, and the choice is not easy as most on offer are rather elderly, and the big worry is the electrical wiring which I'm told is a nightmare.

See you on your next visit, don't hesitate to ask if there are any difficulties - but should be easy for a guy with your skills!

Cheers,

Hugh

480bhp, Kyrill, from a twin turbo V6 of 3.8 litre.

7'38" around Nurburgring........  ahem, the new king, this is just incredible for a road car.  That's up there with Hayabusas - with turbos....

I'm looking around at old GS300 Lexus sedans.  Now there's a good car......
