Hey Mark,

Back at ya!

Things to do today:

1. Eat lots of turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and Lutefisk.
2. Shoot the BS with the brother.
3. Go home and listen to albums on AVA gear for the rest of the day (with beer).
4. Eat more left-overs.
5. Nap

Hi all and hope Thanksgiving was great for you folks.

I spent part of the long weekend at a friend's lake home in the north woods of Wisconsin. They have a great close up view of a lovely lake shore and bald eagles playing through the pines.  I did see one rather astonishing "before and after" sight.

The big lake (the far shore is visible but distant) was all water as the sun set and the temp was dropping to 6 above zero, with waves lapping on my friend's shore line.  In the morning, at sunrise, the whole darn lake was frozen over, all white ice, and even some crow size birds walking around on it.  Maybe the "instant frozen cities" of the movie "day after tomorrow" was not so far fetched after all. They told me that the ice thickens at the rate of an inch a day as it gets really cold there, and that a few brave fishermen would be out walking on it in a couple of days.

Instant frozen over big lake, I would never have believed it.
