Mike,
Thanks for the vote! Ya know...I'm tickled you guys like those old 2.0s.

I guess we did OK for a first "stab" at it. I don't mean to be using your comments to plug our new stuff, but I gotta tell you... I can hardly stand to listen to those old things any more. The "forwardness" and "edginess" about drives me up a wall - not to mention the lack of resolution. Glad you like 'em. Sure wish I could have gotten a set of Minis to
Topround in time for his rave this weekend. Then you'd know what I mean.
I don't want to start a debate about vertical imaging, but the TPs image TALL as well. You can tell me that's not possible but that's what they do!
It's all about diffraction - or the lack thereof. The spatial clues are all there (if its in the mix, that is) and you can hear them as you've experienced as long as diffraction delays don't mask them. Once you outline the perimeter of the front baffle with secondary diffraction signals, the brain clues in on the location of the sound source. That's exactly what we don't want if we're looking for a speaker that sonically disappears. If you can achieve that, the soundstage blows up on you to a size only limited by the spatial cues in the recording.
Bill,
Just to get a feel for what they are like, in your opinion, how do the the Minni's compare to the S9? I got the strange feeling the minis may have the edge.
I ain't going there. We have a relationship with NuForce that essentially requires me to make no comparisons. Darn... too bad you're not psychic as then you could read my mind.

For future reference when I decide to get my pair, what is the best way to purchase them - simply drop you a line? I suspect I may be getting them sooner rather than later.
Just contact me whenever. We'll fix you up.
