He was my hero growing up. I listen to his music all the time still. I remember listening to Cash with my Dad when we would go on fishing trips or in the mountains.

This morning when I heard of his death on the radio I called my dad.  He said "I heard, I'm going to listen to his greatest hits in the car when I go to work" To which I replied "Uhhh no you won't, I have the greatest hits CD with me"

A big loss for music and the world.

The Man In Black is off to join the other heroes in that great choir in the sky.

It's going to be a Johnny Cash weekend.

He will be missed.

I wasn't surprised to learn of his passing, but I am saddened.  His wife died in May, and I didn't expect he could go on for long without her.

The Man in Black.  He was a true original; the Real Deal in a world of posturing and posing.  I've loved his music since I was a little kid, and even as trends in music came and went his music was always fresh, always relevant.  I think his newest album represents another high water mark in his long and storied career, and I'm sorry that we won't get to hear where he would've taken the music next.

Greatest live lps I ever heard.  Man he was cool.  That finger he gave the camera...well, just one of the truly great moments, and tee-shirts.  I think half of him will be singing with the choir and the other half will be burnin' in that Ring of Fire.  Peace JC.  I think you're better than the original JC.
