Last night I found what has to be the best used vinyl store in DC.

http://www.somrecordsdc.com/

I bought 2 killer lps.   Miles Davis Live.  This lp has super fantastic sonics all instruments are close miked no hall effect just the instruments and their players. Lots of sounds coming from all sorts of percussion instruments played by Arito.  If you are a fan of electric miles such "In a silent way" this is a must have.  I also purchased a beautiful copy of James Brown Live at the Apollo.  This really caught me off guard.  I expecting this lp to sound lean with little to know dynamic punch.  However the engineers got it right.  And after hearing the story of getting the record company to sign off on the project now I understand why it sounds so good.  The whole project from begging to end was to produce a live recording to capture the power of JB's performance.  Also this is not the JB of shake your booty get a hump in your back.  It's full of top notch Vegas type performances with violins, big horn section etc.  If you like JB this is a must have as well.  Any way if you live in the DC metro area go down and check these guys out.
