John Atkinson's Memoriam to John Blaine
« on: 26 Dec 2007, 06:29 pm »
Don't know if you guys have seen this but John Atkinson pays a nice tribute to our former member, John Blaine in the January issue of Stereophile. It's on page 3 in his "As We See It" column. He also mentions John being a member of GAS which was mighty nice of him.

Thanks Maxcast. It was a real shame we couldn't have hooked up with Mr. Blaine sooner than we did. He was a very talented and knowledgeable person who was able to expand the GAS group's horizons in many different directions. He will be greatly missed. We truly enjoyed the little time we were able to share with him and hear some of the huge body of recorded work he produced.

I too couldn't believe it- it was like we were tied to a local celebrity.  :D
It was a very nice mention and you have to give credit to John Atkinson and Stereophile for the acknowledgement.  They may be the big dog but more often than not I enjoy the cast of characters they have assembled.

It sounds like John Blaine assembled a very fun system and I think the GAS members that heard it were quite surprised just how much he had cookin'  :flame: (serious wattage to some Martin Logan's).
