We're 21 million....!

I'm a little surprised to see this article in the Herald:

http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/were-21-million-today/2007/06/29/1182624138236.html

I have to admit thinking "is that all"?? Weren't we 20 million like 10 years ago?

I have to admit I'm not really doing my part to add... (i.e. no kids)!

For as long as I can remember, I've always thought of Australia as a country of 20 million.  Are there really entire cities in China, India and Mexico larger in population than all of Australia?

Are you guys drinking so much Down Under you're forgetting or forgetting how to shag one?

Low population growth seems to be a consequence of women's education and the consumer society.....

Not to mention the cost of educating children......

I heard the population last month had risen to 21,712,000.  To be honest, I doubt Australia's carrying capacity is much more than 50M, because of water shortages.  Struth, we don't even have snow anywhere near our cities, large or small!!
