I've been listening to these things around the tweeters of my Spendor S5e speakers for a few days.

My early impressions are uniformly positive.  The rings are oval, black and thicker than I had imagined maybe a tad less than 0.25 inches.

I have a tendency to like changes at first and then revert back to the pre-change arrangement.  So I'll hold off more firm comment until I've listened hard over the weekend.

So far I'd say for a cheap tweak (IIRC I bought five sets for less than $40) these work exceptionally well.  Now I'm going to have to compare with felt.  Dammit!

I'm going to try these on my cheap Hsu horns later today as well.

Hey, EconMan , cool that they work (or, still work as they weren't much different 30 years ago)  :thumb:

After awhile, you may want to take them off.

There were also these (but I think the company is OOB as the website looks quite outdated)

I've enjoyed the neoprene rings. I have the felt ones on order from Jim and look forward to giving them a try.

I look forward to hearing any comparisons you guys come up with. I've ordered the wool surrounds myself and I still haven't come to grips about putting these things on my oak veneer Lorelei's. I'm thinking those neoprene rings would have been much less obtrusive to look at but if the wool surrounds actually outperform the rings, then I can learn live with those woolie thingies.   :duh:  :icon_lol:

Anybody ever try the mi-horns?  I've looked at the site a few times over time - but still don't know why someone would own a pair or more

Is is as simple as it is a way of horn-loading your drivers to create more direct  (less omni-directional) sound propagation? Creating an apparent boost in loudness, efficiency and perhaps, power handing? Like horns do.

I'm not poking fun here...I'm just trying to understand why this product exists and who is using it out there.

I probably need to listen to more horns to understand the effect that mi-horn is trying to mimic.

Hi ChairMan,

The instructions indicate the current rings are much more pliable and less tough than those of the past.

I'm still liking what I hear.

Edit to add......the rings are too small to use on my cheap Hsu horns in my A/V rig.
