Hi Scott,
 We spoke a while back about all the 'surplus' I have laying around. Here is what I have. If any of it can be of use, please send me a PM with shipping information.;

1) A few hundred .22uF/630V PIO capacitors taken from ASL Hurricane amplifiers.
2) Five or Six crossovers that have been taken out of production speakers. There is a bunch of capacitors and inductors located on circuit boards. You would only need to be able to measure the inductance of the coils.
3) Odd ball capacitors of both coupling and crossover values.
4) I might even have a few aluminum preamp chassis -- 17"w x 14"d x 2"h -- but do not have face plates. Hey, with woodworking going on as well......you get the idea. The students could build nice wood face plates. You could use them for external crossovers as well.
5) Who knows what else I have in storage rooms at the shop. I REALLY need to clean a lot of this stuff out.

 Let me know.

I can measure both caps and inductors so we would love to get any that you would send our way.  We have built amps, but not preamps yet.  But we will take the cabinet anyway.  Maybe I can get a kid interested another amp project.

Thanks for all.  Our address is:

I sent a pair of X-LS tweeters and an SPL meter out this morning.

This is a great idea and I'd like to contribute a Grant Fidelity B-283 Tube Processor for passing around. The B-283 will allow Junior Audiophiles of any age to hear the subtle difference that tubes can make on audio. It is light weight enough (5 lbs.) and small enough to keep shipping costs down. Receiver pays shipping. On the honour system.

We can keep track of where it is here in a new thread in this Circle, with requests made there for it.

Again, I am blown away by the support you guys are showing us.  This is a wonderful offer that we will definitely take advantage of.  The home base for it will be Hardin-Simmons University.  I will have a lab open one night a week starting tomorrow and we will be open for student access until May.  Let me get back to you with an address.  We are setting up an office, but I don't think the phone is in yet.  I think the address will be:
Hardin-Simmons University
Holland School of Science and Math
Dept. of Geology
2200 Hickory
Abilene, TX 79698
ATTN: Scott Clark

OR send it to my high school

Like you said, we can track it with separate thread.
Thanks again,

Hi Jim,

I'll send it to your high school and start a new thread to track it.

btw, I well remember being 8 and having 4 radios in my room all tuned to the same station, quasi quad :) a few years before its time. At 13 built my first set of speakers with down firing 8" woofers, they ended up in my car at 16, thats another story.

I loved audio as child and think you will be bringing much joy to some kids. Great idea, wish I had a course in school for it.

Best,
Ian

A good place to start is to get a turntable. That is where it all started. You might enjoy some of the "old man's" records!

Scott:
I'm sending a single Polk RTi-38 monitor.  The PowerPort ought to make for an interesting variable in studying tuned ports.
Thanks for turning kids on audio thru good & cool science from a fellow educator.

Mark,
Thanks a lot.  Does this have a extendable/collapsible port?  It will be very interesting to have the kids listen to.
Regards,
Scott

It's a fixed port.  Here is a link to the details:

I'm still searching for a box.
