Reference 3a with Red Wine?
« on: 30 Oct 2007, 07:42 pm »
I have the Reference 3a De Capo's(non-i version) and am needing to upgrade my amp(Cayin ta-30). I am wondering if anybody has my speakers, or has heard my speakers with any of the Red Wine products. My source is an Audio Note cd 3.1x. Really thinking about getting either the 30 or 30.2. My thinking is that I will keep a lot of the positives of tubes and gain quickness in the bass along with some resolution? Thoughts please :D Thanks!

Hi sjh500,

I very confident that this is exactly what will happen, and the De Capos specs tell me that they are an easy speaker for the 30.2 to drive.  Unfortunately, I have never heard this pairing so I cannot comment with actual listening experience

I offer a 30-day trial period, and the best way to know if this is a good match is to hear it in your room/system with your music and with your ears

Best regards,

Vinnie

Hi sjh500 & Vinnie,

I have owned Reference 3A Royal Master Series II monitors and paired them with RWA Signature 70 monoblocks and loved the combination.  It was some of the most pure sound I have heard in my system or others.  It was a fantastic pairing.  I think you would be hard pressed to find a better amp with Ref 3a speakers.  The fact that Vinnie gives you a 30 day trial period.  I doubt you would be sending the Sig 30.2 back to him.

Good luck on your search

Nick
