Early Dyna MOS-FET 150 from Jensen's
« on: 3 Oct 2007, 11:39 pm »
I have an early MOS-FET 150 on a Dynaco ST-150 chassis.  The PC board is a
"Transcendence 3A".

Does anyone know the proper bias value for this unit?  I opened it for a problem which turned out to be elsewhere so while I was in there I thought I'd check the bias and DC offset.  I figured if the channels were close to each other, I'd leave it alone.  But using the method in the ST-150 manual - putting a milliammeter in place of the B+ fuse, one channel read about 105 ma and the other 125.

I adjusted it to the stock ST-150 value of 75 ma and all seems fine, but if someone could tell me the correct value or another method of setting the bias on this unit, I'd really appreciate it

When I first got it I emailed AVA and Frank said there wasn't any doc available.

The Hitachi output mos-fets used want to be biased on at about 100 mA.  So the bias should be set at about 125 mA, 100 for the outputs, 25 more for the board.
