HI all,
A recent trip to Malaysia showed the limitations of my aging (3 years) Konica Minolta Dimage A2. Write speed after taking RAW pictures was especially bad, leaving the camera unusable for a minute at a time while it would write out the most recent pictures.
Last Friday I decided to go out and get the new camera. I had reduced my shortlist to Canon EOS 400D, Nikon D40x and D80 and maybe the Sony Alpha 100. After some discussion with the salesperson, I decided to get the D80 with 18-135 lens. Much more camera than I know how to handle but more of a learning project.
I took about 250 pictures of my daughter's 1st birthday on Sunday and some video as well. Great! The D80 is a nice and easy camera to work with. I like it a lot.
Monday morning, I found out that our house was broken into and old and new cameras were gone as well as wallets, credit cards passport, work laptop etc.
Still sorting through all the mess. I know I'll miss the pictures most......
Well, let's see what the shop will say when I come to buy a new D80 for the second time that week.
Sorry guys, just venting a bit and the thieves beat me to posting any pictures.
