Isabella at the Swedish HiFi Show
« on: 17 Sep 2008, 12:37 am »
Once again I´ve had the pleasure of visiting the Arken HiFi Show in Sweden and to my surprise Red Wine Audio were present. :D Schmidt Audio from Denmark represents Red Wine Audio and Podium Sound and they had the Isabella and a pair of Signature 70.2 on show. I´ve never heard of Podium Sound speakers before but judging by the demo I would really like to listen to them again driven by an RWA amp. Effortless, dynamic, free-floating sound in less than optimal conditions (to say the least). Even when playing in a large convention hall i got kick-in-the-chest-drums.  :o :D

Hope you like the pictures:

Audio Note transport, RWA Isabella, prototype tube amp. They didn´t use the 70.2 on Sunday.

...and rear.

Hi Pelle,

Thanks for posting, and nice pics! I still need to listen to those Podiums!  A few of my overseas distributors carry them and love them with RWA gear, and I'm sure they have that spacious dipole sound!  8)   They are also much more efficient than Maggies

Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks again,

Vinnie

Pelle !......   :)

I thank you very, very much for your kind words, and your wonderful pictures !......

The situation on the Swedish exhibition called "Arken" are, that it is not possible "your first year" to get a room for yourself. During the exhibition I talked with the president of the show. He promissed that I next time will get a room by my own though !....... He too stated that he thinks my system has really big potential, and too apologize that he could not offer me and my system better conditions this time !.....  :thumb:

But next time I guarantee that I can and will deliever a demonstration that WILL BE remembered !.......

Even though it was not ideal locations and that there was much to much background noise, I feel that all people that dropped by was much impressed by the sound/music they were served !......   :D   :D   :D

Several people even shoved me their raising hairs on their arm - very good indication indeed !.....   :D   :D   :D

Of course the sound are much, much better in a home environment, and therefor have to be heard to understand what it is all about !......

Oh, I see you mentioned that I did not use the 70.2's sunday !........ The reason for that was that the extra headroom the tubeamp was most needed and that huge room !....... In a home environment, the 70.2's are all you need !........

Now; I know who you are !.........   8)   8)   8)

As I have have been writing on the Swedish HiFi fora named "http://www.euphonia-audioforum.se", it would be me an honor to visit Sweden again, to show what Podium Sound and Red Wine Audio are capable doing in a home environmet - I promiss that everyone will be most surprised (positively of course) !.......    :D   :D   :D

I suggest that you and/or other interested organise this little arrangement - would be very pleased to see 20 to 30 Swedish Music and HiFi enthusiasts to such an arrangement !.....   :D   :D   :D

Then it's just to find a date !.........   :D  :D  :D

Hi Carsten,

Glad to hear you had a successful show and achieved awesome sound with the RWA/Podium combo in "less-than-ideal" conditions!  :thumb:

Thanks for posting,

Vinnie
