When are sub drivers coming in?

When is the next shipment of sub drivers and PRs coming in? I've been waiting for the website to indicate new shipments have arrived so I can place an order for the two subs I'm planning to build.

New SW-12B's are in. Specs are nearly identical to the SW-12A specs. I'll get the web site updated shortly. You can call to order them.

PR's are another story, and a long story, but it doesn't look like I'll be bringing in any more PR's. So it looks like the new woofers will need to go in a sealed box (which sounds really good BTW) or a ported box.

Or if you really want the original with a PR we have a few sitting here, cost a little more for shipping but they are Danny's stock.

What size of sealed enclosure would be good for these woofers in terms of internal volume?

They only need 1.2 cubic feet of air space.  :green:

I'm thinking it might finally be time to replace my POS Velodyne DPS12.  Especially since I just finished building a massive setup for my Uncle, and he's been talking trash :)

Hey Danny, whatcha think about 4 of these in a sealed tower powered by a HPSA1000?  Combo series/parallel wiring should give me a nice load, the amp should do around 700-800 watts at 6 ohm.  What's the best f3 you can get from the new subs sealed?

That sounds like a good combo.

If you model the parameters in a sealed box the new SW-12B's will be -3db down at 40Hz. But if you set your crossover to 35 or 40Hz then it is going to roll off output from the top end of the curve and not effect the bottom end. That will take about 6db out of the top end of its response, and what was -9db down will be the new -3db down. That puts the new -3db down at 25Hz.

Here's an idea,
Let's say you build a standard sw12 cabinet with a woofer hole at one end and a pr hole at the other. Instead of a pr at one end, you mount a second sw12 woofer. You then wire the two woofer in parallel, about 3.4 ohms, and in phase. The cabinet is 2.4 cu. ft., so each driver "sees" a 1.2 cu.ft. sealed enclosure space. You can put a solid partition brace halfway between the drivers if you like. You now have twice the output of a single sealed woofer, and since it is a "push-push" configuration, the drivers cancel each others vibrations out.
What? You don't have a cabinet built? Go get a 20 gallon new oak barrel and do the same thing. :D

Hey Al, I might be interested in 2 or 3 of those PRs.  I dropped you an email.

AS I have said in the PM and any calls I have been taking
The drivers and PR's are Danny,s stock the cost is up to Danny but the shipping will just cost a little more shipping them from us to most people in the US. For a Driver ande PR shipping will be around $49.00
