Looks like I won't waste my money- looks like we'll get non-anamorphic discs with 2CH stereo/PL only!  Does Lucas actively despise his fans or what?

No, he LOVES his fans!  Why wouldn't he?  He keeps selling you the same thing over and over again and you keep buying it and then despise him for doing it!  A sick, twisted relationship if ever there was!.

"I Hate you George Lucas you greedy S.O.B.!  Here's thirty bucks..."
"Oh geez!  He's making me buy that Star Wars merchandise!  George Lucas you fat jerk!  BTW, here's fifty bucks..."
"I swear I'll kill that George Lucas if he does this to us again! Oh NO!  Oh crap - here George, have another twenty five bucks..."

But hey, re-releasing old stuff beats coming up with new epic Sci-Fi\Fantasy stories I suppose. :P

He won't get me with that one. :nono:   I don't have any of 'em myself, except Revenge of the Sith.  I wouldn't completely rule out buying the 2004 Original Trilogy DVD set- aside from some nauseating added footage & tomfoolery they were great.  The picture and sound blow most new movies out of the water.  And they were good films.  I just don't know if it's worth the money to own a vandalized, bastardized version of the real films.  And I won't waste my money on his quick grab at the cash reissues; non-anamorphic DVDs that (supposedly) don't utilize the painstakingly remastered print and limit us to 2CH ONLY!

Guess I'll save my money for the 5th, 6th and 7th versions of LotR!

There’s about six different version of the original from 35mm monaural 35mm Dolby stereo A type 70mm Dolby Stereo A type format 42 “Baby Boom”  THX laserdisc edition 1993 special edition 1997 and lastly the 2004 DVD editions that was done over again not only was the sound remixed but the visuals where changed to fit in with STAR WARS episode III Revenge of the Sith.

Now I know that greedy little git has the 70mm Dolby stereo A type Baby Boom prints stashed away under his bed or in some vault I would have been more than happy with Mr. Lucas to realise this version along with the others. Well looks like I’d hath to be content with the earlier PAL laserdisc P/S Dolby stereo 1982 pressing and the THX laserdisc 1993 CAV editions the 1995 THX CLV THX editions the special edition 1997 THX laserdiscs and lastly the region 2 DVD editions 2004.

Greedy git! :cuss:
