Fade to right... er left stops working after a bit!

I am just curious in an amplifier with a built in pre-amp, processor for volume etc, digital, where would you look first towards the culprit of a left channel that just fades off after playing for about oh I dunno five normal length songs...

I am worried it has something to do with no ground causing the amplifier section to get extra warm and the left amplifier is not having it. I have experienced this before with a GC amplifier (this is not but both chip amplifiers), but not this one yet. I might just add a 2 million ohm resistor to bridge the negative and ground, to help... I have not thought of anything else. I just discovered there is no ground because I am using an amazingly cheap power thing that says there is a wiring fault (no ground). Funny enough the socket in the wall has what should be a ground, but there is nothing I can do because I do not own the place.

Get your heat gun and freeze spray out. Sounds like an IC somewhere..........

I hope not! I wonder if it would be pre-amp opamp or... Er..

Once or twice I have lowered the volume and the sound came back but then left again.
