Do FetValves do better with "matched" tubes?

Or does having matched tubes not matter with this design? If matching does help, is it better to have the sections matched in each tube, or the same sections in each pair (L+R) closely matched - even if the two sections in one tube are not closely matched?

When I bought my 550 and T8 I had Frank send along a spare set of tubes for each and they were "matched". What exactly is matched I don't know, gain, triodes, matched set just sounds like I would want that. : ?
