Anyone cut a hole in the Larger to add a plate amp?

Outline the rectangle...

Drill at all 4 corners...

Then take a jigsaw and follow your lines, trim as nessicary.

Thanks. That doesn't sound too hard. Any location you'd recommend? Do you putty the contact points to seal the plate to the sub?

I did not putty my original and there are no leaks.

The plate amps I've used have had a rubber seal on the outside edge so nothing else is needed for sealing it up.

PartsExpress sells the 1000W sub amp as a standalone for $400, no cutting required.

Baffle is 1" material, so cut carefully. Best location is directly behind the 15".

I think the PE 1000 watt plate amp is on sale for only 299 right now. That's a super bargain imo.

The Dayton Loudspeaker Plate Amps are on sale at Parts Express for $330 for the 1000 watt and $240 for the 500 watt. I have two of the 500 watt plate amps on my VSS upgraded (dual voice coil) Larger and am very happy with them.
