A few have some issues with each other but have agreed not to air their differences here , some cooperate.

Most of the cooperation includes sharing:rooms, fuses, pre-amps, power cords, sources, speakers etc.. at trade shows.

Some show open admiration, for example, both Dave Ellis and Frank Van Alstine like Jim Salks speakers.

I am sure there will be a sense of competition if they happen to offer similar product.  But this is good for us consumers.  The only back-stabbing should be reserved for really ignorant posters who troll for flaming responses.

But it does make for entertainment on a slow day much like Bevis and Butthead did.  :green:

Slow day, Mike?  aa

Are there other audio forums where so many Industry folk participate??   seems like AC is a mfgr friendly environment...

For whatever it is worth I have made some good friends here that are other manufacturers or venders.

I have either shared technical information with, designed product for, showed product in a get together or amp comparison event, exhibited with product from, had our product used in an exhibit, sold product to, or bought product from 14 of the other 26 (not counting myself) venders listed here. 15 if you count the owner forum of Jim Salk.

There are a lot of good people here and a lot of good friends, competitors or not, and some of them I'd do whatever I could for. It is a really good community even despite a few bad apples.

I'm all for sleeping your way to the top....  The only problem is that 99.9999999999999% of people in the audio business are men.    Think I'd draw the line there.

I wouldn't be in the audio business if it hadn't been for the assistance of several seasoned manufactures and distributors. All contacts through net audio BBS. Many thanks to industry good guys and gals Bob Crump, Jennifer Crock, and Ray Kimber.

I don't recall any problems within commercial members. Many of the dealers/manufacturers here at AC have worked together on many occasions. Trade shows are a prime example. If you look at all the recent RAMF shows you will find many of the rooms are filled with various products that were offered by AC commercial members.

I for one have had many dealings with various members here. I think if dealers and manufacturers all work together rather than at each others throat, they can accomplish a lot more and very often offer a consumer much more.

This industry is tough. I would much rather have some good ol' fashion competition than go head to head in battle. Better yet, I would prefer to work together to help best accommodate the needs of one of my customers.

I have very often recommended customer to other AC commercial members. At least I know the customer will be properly taken care of and treated with respect.

 What comes around goes around.
