Interesting way to connect caps...

to reduce distortion from the caps:

The patent described in the article is here:

5,379,181

Basically, the idea in the article is to put two capacitors in parallel but in opposite polarity/directions.  The patent covers the specific instance when this circuit is used at the output of a rectifier.

They also claim (in another article) that if you place 2 of another type of non-polarised cap (the ones with the red sleeve) in series, that the inductance will cancel out. By means of the same claimed effect.

Something that we were unable to prove.

Doesn't meant that they don't sound good. Just their explanation, while probably sincere, doesn't cut it.
