Ever get those magical moments where you find one artist who ushers you into a bubble of artists that you didn't know before? Those are the moments I live for in seeking new music. I recently came upon this moment from Probot. Its a David Grohl band honoring former metal acts of the past that he admired. I am not a huge fan of David on vocals/guitars as in Foo Fighters but I thought he was a phenomenal drummer in Nirvanna.
The drum style wreaks of Nirvanna, so I highly suspect it is Grohl doing the drums and the guitar speaks to me of Josh Hommes (of Queens of the Stone Age/ Desert Sessions/etc) fame. Allmusic has no mention of Josh Hommes, but his style is so distinqued that it is hard to miss....the Screaming Tree's who cooperates with QOTSA is the only other group to have similar guitar work that I know.
