But.. what I noticed is the album, last one I believe, is recorded really loud, and may be a bit compressed. Anyone notice it?

I agree that the recent album is a bit loud ("Sea Lion Woman" kinda gives me a headache, and gets flipped through).  It also has a slight upper-midrange EQ bump, which I think is intended to add some character, but makes it sound a bit honky on my system.  While that older album with the red cover is more audiophile-friendly, I do really dig the new one  :thumb:

I wish I'd known you wanted this CD.  You could have had mine.  I think it's crap personally.

Hey!

Yes, she is very good. I think she is now better know here in the US now with her latest album.

US cover version above.

Canada cover version above.

First off I like the US cover version better. :D Anyway, I do enjoy her open and raw vocal and that folky feel and simplicity with the instrumental part of it. :D

Also, there is a remixed album.....

"Open Season" This is an interesting re-mixed album. Pretty much all the songs from the original with a new trip-hop/electronica sound to it. I really enjoy this album since I do like trip-hop type of music. And the I love the cover of this one. :D

Many of you might already have heard one of the remixed version  of song "Gatekeeper" before on TV. It was used for a commercial from HSBC bank. :D Actually I do feel that this remixed version is better than the original. But the original is more about her vocal of which is great also... a simpler and more direct version. :D If you like trip-hop/electronica type of music than you might want to pick this one up also.

I bought bought albums on CD than I found out that they also released these on LP vinyl. But nobody in the US (Music Direct, Acoustic Sounds) seem to have it! But I found both LP versions on eBay! So, I bought them and had them shipped from Canada. :D Although the CD version sound very good. But I have to say I do prefer the LP much better than the CD versions. :D The sad part is that the remixed album "Open Season"  on LP have less tracks than it US CD version. :( But that is okay since those tracks are not my favorite anyway.

Anyway, I've not heard her new album yet. I hope it will be as good as the first one performance and sound quality wise. :D

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

Yeah, Feist is enjoyable.

Check out Keren Ann's new album "Keren Ann."  Her previous album "Nolita" is great also.
