Denny, thanks again for making the trip out to my place, and to experience the wonder that is my unfinished basement, where the b200 baffles live.

I appreciate your insight, and as always, a great discussion.

Thanks too for the Trends amp, I look foward to playing around with that, and promise to post what I think, in comparison to my existing EL84 SE amp.

All the best, and wonderful to see you again!

Hey Mark,

Thanks for the relaxed Sunday afternoon get together.

It was fun to hear what you've done with a couple of drivers and some imagination. I get a real kick out of reading about the things that guys experiment with in the open baffle circle. It's fun when I finally get to hear one. I really liked the way electric guitar sounds coming out of the Visaton's. Very guitar amp sounding.  :guitar:
Enjoy the Trends TA-10. Wayne is going to try and send up his modded TA-10 along with his Ultimate Mrk II P.S. for the SB 3 for us to audition. Should be fun. We'll have to get together when that stuff comes for sure.

I have a pair of GR Research OB 7's that we've built for a customer being finished up this week, you'll have to stop by and give those a listen. These should prove to be something else. Quite a step beyond my OB 5's.

Thanks for the invite, and the chance to play peekaboo with the lil' lonewolf!  :P

Cheers

Thanks Denny, I appreciated your candour about what you think the system does well, and where improvement could be realized, and agree with all points.

All the best, Easton says Hi!

Hi,

Did you mod your Trends ? I have played with mine for 5 months now and is quite happy about it. The only mod I performed so far was the RFI-blocking
copper shields on Michael Mardis pages and indeed there was an effect of a more 'black' background.
However I have two more units coming in from a 'groupbuy' here in Sweden. I think I will try the AudioMagus Twekit I, http://www.audiomagus.com/component/page,shop.product_details/flypage,shop.flypage_modern/product_id,10/category_id,14/manufacturer_id,0/option,com_virtuemart/Itemid,27/ in one of the units and DynamiCaps for input caps in the other to begin with. The Copper shields will be mounted too.

No, mine is stock. I might do the Mardis mods one day when I have the time, just for fun. At some point I plan on having 2 Trends TA 10.1's, I'll gut them, mod them, and then put them in a custom chassis so I can vertically bi-amp.

If Wayne's modded Trends turns out to be as good as his modded SB's, then I'll have him mod the pair. It would be cool to have a Mardis modded Trends to compare to the stock, and Bolder Cable modded Trends.

Anyone out there with one they'd be willing to send up for a Comparo?

Cheers

That's the use I envisage for mine, bi-amp and even tri-amp.
I am using a Behringer DCX2496 to filter and shape.
