I am in the process of building a new house. I'm going to have an HT room upstairs and probably put a 2-channel system in another upstairs bedroom. I don't really want to put another system downstairs but I do want to at least be able to have some background music or something when I have people over. So I was thinking about installing some in ceiling speakers and such. I have a Squeezebox and Transporter already so all of my music is stored digitally which should allow for a pretty cool setup if I can integrate one of those with a system for playing music downstairs.
So the problem is, I know nothing about these "whole house audio" systems. Does anyone have any suggestions for speakers to use as well as how to integrate a squeezebox into one of these systems? I would suspect that just plugging it into the system is easy enough but the issue is a good way to control the system remotely. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
