It was the same adhesive for both.  It was just so aggressive that once it was placed, that was it.  That may work for the sheets, but when you are using tape, its nice to be able to lift the tape up and re adjust once in awhile.  You couldn't really do that with the tape as it was.  Hence the "new" adhesive formula.  It is supposed to be more forgiving.  Hopefully it will be out by late August.  I don't know of anybody who has any adhesive backed ERS in stock right now.  It is all gone...
Well that explains why you haven`t had any tape all summer as your the only source for ERS tape that I`ve seen, but that doesn`t hold true for the sheets. I just picked up 2 sheets of ERS for the interior casing of my new Sunfire TG3 last week from www.audio-buff.com . I can see your concerns of the adhesive backing but personally, that`s what I like about it. The last thing I want is forthis stuff to fall down after heating up from the circuits heat and shorting something out. Changing the adhesive backing of the tape is cool but I hope Stillpoints leaves the sheets alone, it`s perfect just the way it is, IMO. Regards, Robin

OTOH, it depends on how much of that last few percent you want to eek out of a component, or system.  Example. . .   The best system I have ever heard was about 10% better than mine, IMO. That system was also about $135,000. So, to extract that last few percent, the price jumps suprexponentially. It is not unreasonable to think that a $1000 power cord will give only a few percent improvement over a $100 cord.

I'm in complete agreeance. I'm glad somebody else understands this.

I tell Mad Dog about my upgrade plans and he just does this   I'm sure a lot of people agree. Eventually you reach that diminishing point of returns..and just have to decide whether the extra percentages of improvements are worth your money. In time, I'm going to be trying to get as much or more of the performance from those six digit systems for a lot less :D

Of all the cheap power cords, the Absolute Power Cord ($49.95) is the only that's a *tuned* design.  When cryo'ed, it is really really good and will defeat $500-600 power cords.  If you want to go the DIY route, Chris Ven Haus came up with a new, custom cable design.  I've seen it, as Lak bought a kit and it looks really good.  I'm looking forward to listening to it.  He says it sounds really good...

DIY and untuned designs need the use of an external tuning device.  I use the Highwire Wirewrap ($25) and it works really well.
